An opportunity has arisen to join our Compliance Team within the Housing Asset and Investment Team. Renfrewshire Council has a portfolio of over 12, properties which require all landlord statutory and regulatory obligations to be met.
You will assist the Statutory Compliance Co-ordinator’s (Asbestos Safety, Gas Safety, Electrical Safety, Water Safety, Lifts and Fire Safety) on the strategic management of Statutory Compliance and Regulatory undertakings related to all Housing Revenue Account (HRA) assets. This will include inspection and service regimes to ensure Renfrewshire Council is fully compliant and reduce any residual risk to its tenants, employees and third parties. You will support the Procurement and Delivery of statutory compliance contracts, internal and external Quality Control/Quality Assurance arrangements and Monitoring and Reporting on performance.
You will assist in the development and delivery of the strategic approach to effectively managing Landlord Compliance statutory obligations and regulatory undertakings that reduces the risk, to customers, employees and third parties.
You must have a recognised SQA Information Technology at Nat 5 (or equivalent) and it is desirable that you have a Professional qualification Institute of Data Management (IDM), P Management of Asbestos in Buildings, HND or similar qualification or a relevant Health and Safety qualification e.g., NEBOSH, Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health (or equivalent) or working towards, Knowledge of P Building Surveys and Bulk Sampling for Asbestos, Knowledge of P – Air Sampling and Fibre Counting (PCM), Knowledge of P – Clearance Testing and the Requirements for a Certificate for Reoccupation Or equivalent.
It is desirable that you will be a self-motivated individual with experience of Statutory Landlord Compliance procedures and processes within the Social Housing Sector Asbestos, Gas and Electrical Safety.
It is also essential that you have the ability to work on your own initiative and attend out of hours meetings as and when required. You must also have effective communication, ICT with experience of Microsoft Office Database software packages, organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your own workload.
A full current driving licence is desirable.
