Job overview
This role will be working in busy Trauma & Orthopaedic Fracture and Outpatients Clinic's in the Bridgend Area.
We are looking for a enthusiastic and motivated individual who can work independently as well as part of our team. Communication is an essential skill in this job as we deal with a varied aspect of patients and relatives alongside the numerous members of the multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job
As part of this role you will be expected to manage wound care ranging from basic to complex, phlebotomy would be desirable alongside the recording of ECGs. Brace and splint fitting is a requirement and an existing knowledge of this is desirable but teaching will be provided. The clinics will also include various specialities within medicine and surgical field, for example Cardiology, Vascular, Gastro and some knowledge will be desirable. Also we will expect the successful candidate to complete the plastering course to enable them to apply and remove basic plasters.
The successful candidate will be expected to run nurse led clinics and take charge in the managers absence.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
