Dearboy Petcare is a brand-new manufacturer of high-quality pet food, based in Wrexham. The business will be serving natural and nutritious pet food to pet owners in the UK and globally.
The Role – MSK Engineer
Reporting to our Engineering Manager, you will work as part of a flexible team to provide technical and engineering support to keep the site running efficiently, identifying areas for engineering improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and safety, while ensuring compliance with current legislative standards.
You will work closely with our automation equipment from European suppliers, developing knowledge to get involved with machinery and equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities include:
* Ensuring production downtime is minimized through planned and preventative maintenance of equipment such as Siemens PLC systems, conveyor systems, boilers, depositors, packing systems, robotic tray sealing machines, jet printers, etc.
* Managing reactive maintenance and responding promptly to breakdowns
* Performing daily disassembly and reassembly of machines after cleaning
* Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures and technical standards
* Contributing to the development of a preventative maintenance program
* Implementing improvements and executing the improvement plan
* Training and mentoring team members as the team evolves
The Package
As a MSK Engineer at our new manufacturing facility on Wrexham Industrial Estate, you will benefit from:
* Permanent full-time contract, initially on 8-hour shifts, 5 days a week, with potential shift pattern evolution to 6 days a week
* Salary in the range of £44,000 to £48,000, dependent on skills, experience, and qualifications; higher salaries may be negotiated for candidates with extensive relevant experience
* Paid overtime where available
* 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with time off in lieu for bank holiday work
Requirements
* Proven experience with planned and preventative maintenance, preferably in food manufacturing
* Experience with PLC systems and automated robotics machinery
* Excellent electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
* Understanding of PPM systems in an FMCG environment
* Minimum BTEC/NVQ Level 3 qualification in Engineering
* Proactive, flexible, and hands-on approach to work, with a team-oriented mindset
