Overview
WSP’s UK Rail team delivers systemic, user‑focused rail solutions across the UK. As part of the Rail Strategy & Feasibility group you will shape early‑stage railway projects, developing proposals for new stations, freight facilities, and enhanced services for both passenger and freight networks.
Responsibilities
* Provide strategic rail advice to external and internal clients, supporting the development of early‑stage projects.
* Lead and coordinate multi‑disciplinary project teams, managing planning, delivery and bidding processes.
* Develop and grow our rail‑focused service offering in light rail, freight or local authority projects.
* Build and maintain client relationships, leveraging WSP’s UK and global networks to generate new work.
* Deliver technical advice on operational planning, business case development and engineering feasibility.
Qualifications
* Extensive experience in light rail, freight or local authority transport projects.
* Deep understanding of rail legislative, funding and scheme development processes.
* Strong strategic thinking, balancing high‑level vision with detailed execution.
* Professional: qualified or working toward a professional qualification.
* Business development and bidding experience.
* Excellent organisational, stakeholder management and project delivery skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
