Job Summary:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Optometrist to join our team in Edinburgh and surrounding areas. You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, clinically excellent eye care in a patient-focused environment. The role offers the flexibility to choose your working hours, with no weekend work, and a comprehensive support network.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform thorough eye exams for patients, helping to detect, diagnose, and manage various eye conditions.
Deliver personalized care by helping around 6-7 patients each day, providing 1-hour appointments for a more comprehensive and tailored experience.
Provide clinical advice and guidance to patients regarding their eye health and treatment options.
Make autonomous clinical decisions, while having access to a senior optometrist team for support and second opinions when needed.
Use cutting-edge diagnostic tools, such as a digital fundus camera, mobile slit lamp, and I-care tonometer, ensuring minimal paperwork through the use of a digital records system.
Assist in patient management and follow-up care, ensuring consistent and high standards of service.
Continuously develop professional skills and knowledge through CPD and training opportunities.
Team Development:
You will be part of a supportive and collaborative team, working closely with experienced optometrists and senior professionals. With ongoing mentorship and guidance, you will have the chance to further develop your clinical expertise and progress in your career. We also provide support for higher qualifications, including the College of Optometrists Professional Certificates Programme.
