The Stockyard Truckstop is a long-established, family-run business with over 26 years at the heart of our community. More than just a place to stop, we're proud to offer a welcoming pub and restaurant serving hearty, home-cooked meals and our popular carvery, available four nights a week.
With parking for over 200 trucks, we've built a reputation as a trusted stopover for drivers from across the country — and just as importantly, as a friendly place for locals to relax, eat well, and enjoy great company.

Job Description – Kitchen/Restaurant Assistant
We're excited to be recruiting Kitchen/Restaurant Assistants to join our busy and welcoming team. This is a varied, hands-on role within our restaurant, which operates:
* Monday to Friday: 6am – 9pm
* Weekends: 6am – 11am and 4pm – 8pm
Most shifts will be evenings (typically 5–6 hours), with flexibility across the week and opportunities for additional hours.
As a Kitchen/Restaurant Assistant, you'll be fully trained to work across both the kitchen and front of house, giving you a wide range of experience and keeping each day different.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Preparing vegetables and other food items for service.
* Serving customers at the till with a smile and friendly service.
* Assisting with pot wash, fryer, grill, and general kitchen duties.
* Clearing and preparing tables to keep the restaurant clean and welcoming.
* Supporting the wider team to ensure every guest has a great experience.
What We Offer
* £12.21 per hour on weekdays.
* £15 per hour on weekends (after a successful 4-week probation period).

Due to our location and working hours, having your own transport is recommended, but not essential. Above all, we are looking for people with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a genuine enjoyment of working with both customers and colleagues.
This role is offered at a minimum of 20 hours per week, and we are currently looking for multiple new team members.
