Veolia is looking for committed, proactive, and community-minded individuals to join our Seasonal Park Ranger Service in Watford from May to mid-September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to support the permanent Park Ranger Service during the busiest months of the year and play a vital role in helping keep Watford's parks and open spaces safe, clean, and welcoming. What You'll Be Doing: As a Seasonal Park Ranger, you'll provide a visible presence across the town's parks, play areas, cemeteries, allotments, and green spaces. You'll help with: Patrolling and maintaining public open spaces Engaging positively with park users and responding to issues Addressing anti-social behaviour and supporting "soft" enforcement of local byelaws Responding to call-outs from the public, Police, and Council services Supporting community events and assisting in rapid-response duties Conducting safety inspections and carrying out minor maintenance Collaborating with local groups, Police, schools, and organisations ️ Additional Duties Include: Assisting with overflow bins and graffiti removal Locking/unlocking facilities and stewarding at events Supporting environmental clean-ups and Friends of Parks activities Collecting evidence for fly-tipping and other issues Contributing to Green Flag awards and community outreach initiatives ️ Working Pattern: 56 hours per week (11:30 to 20:00, including weekends) Rota: 2 weeks on / 1 week off Flexibility required to cover staff leave or attend urgent call-outs Who We're Looking For: We're seeking individuals who are: Responsible, reliable, and confident in engaging with the public Flexible and able to work independently or as part of a team Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions Passionate about community service and environmental care Willing to undergo relevant training and clearances Experience in enforcement, customer service, security, parks services, or similar roles is desirable but not essential.
