Amazon European Books is looking for an extraordinarily motivated and talented Head of EU Books Demand, with a strong customer focus to join our leadership team. The role has single threaded leadership for growth initiatives with direct responsibility for Marketing, Demand, and Pricing and sits on the EU Books Leadership team and plays an integral role working in collaboration with the WW Books Demand Leadership team and EU Stores Marketing teams. In this pivotal role, you will take a leadership role transforming the future of reading across Europe and supporting our mission to grow reading by driving strategic growth initiatives that connect readers with the best next read, leveraging best-in-class customer insight methodologies and delivering the go-to-market for innovations in digital and physical book experiences. You will leverage new technologies and deep customer insights to revolutionize how people discover, purchase, and engage with books while driving the effectiveness and efficiency of your team through AI innovations that simplify cross-border and cross-language implementation. Key job responsibilities 1. Drive Strategic Growth: Develop comprehensive strategies to drive traffic to the store, expand book selection, optimize pricing and deals, deliver best-in-class convenience and speed for customers and enhance customer engagement across all our European locales. 2. Lead Innovative Initiatives: Prioritize and implement growth initiatives and product innovations that improve book discovery, evaluation, and reading experiences. Leverage WW books best-practices to execute best-in-class go-to-market strategies and work in collaboration with PR and business teams to maximise growth from strategic initiatives and improving fly-wheel inputs. Work in close collaboration with EU Stores marketing to ensure that traffic, performance marketing and social media campaigns are optimized for Books. 3. Optimize Customer Journey: Design and manage pricing, promotions, and site merchandising to create an exceptional online book shopping experience, leveraging WW Demand and store innovations. Lead best-in-class walk-the-store and customer insight processes to ensure that we are quickly able to address defects and identify competitive gaps. 4. Nurture Team Potential: Recruit, develop, and inspire high-performing talent while fostering a collaborative and forward-thinking work environment 5. Champion AI-Driven Solutions: Implement process improvements and automation across multiple European locales, ensuring that the team is able to achieve improved effectiveness and efficiency particularly in cross-language and cross-border consistency. This role specifically leads a team of c. 20 across Customer Experience, Marketing/Demand, Pricing and Deals and is part of the EU Books leadership, working in close collaboration across WW Books Demand and Stores to articulate effectively EU Books industry and customer insights.
