Location: Hull, UK (with travel to Wyton site every other week) Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week) Additional: Occasional weekend work required We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Biospecimen Laboratory Supervisor to lead and coordinate laboratory operations across a range of diagnostic services. This is a pivotal role overseeing multi-disciplinary teams and ensuring high standards of regulatory compliance and scientific output. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and coordinate daily laboratory operations across the following diagnostic services: Biospecimen Microbiology Molecular Biology Serology Parasitology Provide supervision, mentorship, and daily management to a team of 3–5 laboratory staff. Ensure all activities are compliant with relevant regulatory and quality assurance (QA) standards. Monitor workflow efficiency and ensure optimal use of laboratory resources and personnel. Maintain oversight of laboratory safety, compliance documentation, and SOP adherence. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management to support operational excellence and continuous improvement. Travel to the Wyton site once every two weeks to provide supervision and support for lab operations there. Key Requirements: Education: Degree in Bio-Medical Sciences, Bio-Veterinary Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, or a closely related field. Experience: Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial laboratory role is essential. Strong understanding of laboratory QA/QC protocols and regulatory frameworks. Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and team leadership skills. Ability and willingness to travel to another site bi-weekly (expenses covered). Desirable: Previous experience working across multiple diagnostic service areas. Familiarity with veterinary diagnostics or biospecimen handling.
