Job Description:
An Automation Tester with Financial Services experience is required for an initial 8 month contract. This is a hybrid role with 3 days per week on site in Sheffield and is inside IR35, so will require working via an FCSA accredited umbrella company.
Essential Skills and Experience:
1. Very strong coding skills in Puppet, Ansible, and Python, as well as exposure to Cucumber, Gherkin, Git/GitHub, and other pipelines used for testing purposes.
2. Good understanding of traditional infrastructure.
3. Automate a new customer environment using well-defined existing frameworks.
4. Quick learner to understand the existing environment.
5. Architect and build a provisioning pipeline to support the new initiative.
6. Creation of management dashboards and integration to existing portal tools.
7. Adhere to change management processes - Change management automation.
8. Sufficiently comment your code during creation for future supportability.
9. Understand performance implications for your code and create performant code.
10. Work as part of a team and implement enhancements from others.
11. Ability to work within the Agile frame using Jira.
12. Experience working in a finance background with strong change management practices.
Beneficial Additional Skills:
1. Exposure to Ruby, Vagrant, Virtual Box, Visual Studio, SPLUNK, Powershell, and deconstructing external APIs to present an internal customer API.
2. Understand 'bigger pictures' and code towards a longer-term architecture.
3. Experience in working in a large enterprise environment with thousands of end-points.
4. Create and maintain documentation of the patching architecture.
5. Update Confluence and Jira tickets to reflect any changes or updates.
6. Work within a release schedule, adhering to strict change management rules.
7. Possess the 'soft skills' to work in a larger team environment and contribute in team meetings/huddles.
