Our current Director of Midwifery is retiring this summer, so I am looking for an experienced senior midwife to join my team. You will be the service user’s voice, a role model for our staff, an innovative thinker who wants to transform our services, and a unitary part of my senior leadership team with a vested interest in how we provide maternity services across the Wigan Borough.
You will have the essential criteria and both the clinical and academic credibility that we outline in the job description. I am looking for someone who will make this unit a flagship, with a positive, open and inclusive culture.
As the senior Midwife within the Divisional Triumvirate, you will work alongside the Director of Operations and the Medical Director. This post reports directly to me, and I am seeking a confident leader who is professionally curious, critically analytical, and skilled at triangulating complex challenges.
I’m keen to hear from maternity leaders who represent the demographics of both our people and our service users. You will have the autonomy, but also the support, to lead our teams. Population health, health inequalities, and neighbourhood transformation are high on our agenda.
Recruitment will be a two‑way process; we want to ensure we are the right team for you. Informal conversations and due diligence prior to shortlisting are encouraged. We want the best, and I am looking for the best.
