Job Summary
We are seeking a Consultant in Genitourinary Medicine (GUM) to work in the Leicestershire and Rutland Sexual Health service based at Loughborough Health Centre with service locations across Rutland, Market Harborough, Melton Mowbray, and Coalville. The role is part‑time (four out of four positions) and provides free, confidential sexual health services to the local community.

Main Responsibilities
* Diagnosis and management of STIs, including complex genitourinary conditions
* Lead the GUM MDT meetings and work with the multidisciplinary team
* Provide expert opinions and second‑line support to specialty doctors, nurses and trainees
* Participate in clinical governance, audit, CME and meet annual CPD requirements
* Follow HCRG Care Group policies, undertake annual appraisal and CPD in line with GMC good medical practice and revalidation
* Participate in mentoring scheme (BASHH, FSRH, BHIVA)
* Provide safeguarding support for vulnerable adults and young people
* Provide clinical leadership, contribute to service development, redesign and pathway development
* Lead or support quality improvement initiatives
* Support innovation in HIV prevention (PEPSE, PrEP)
* Ensure compliance with national standards such as BASHH, FSRH, NICE
Ideal Candidate
* Basic medical qualification registrable in the UK
* Entry on the GMC specialist register for Genitourinary Medicine or equivalent via:
o CCT (proposed date within 6 months of interview)
o CESR or European Community rights
o MRCP, MRCOG or equivalent
* Diplomas in HIV, GUM and DFSRH
* Letter of competence in sub‑dermal implants or equivalent
* Letter of competence in intrauterine techniques
* Specialist skills relevant to sexual and reproductive health
* Evidence‑based practice and management training
* Research/publications in sexually transmitted infections, contraceptive/reproductive health, and related areas
* Teaching qualification (e.g., BASHH STIF trainer, Royal College of Physicians, university) and/or GMC registered trainer status
* Higher degree (e.g., MSc, MD/PhD) appropriate
* Willingness to work flexibly and travel
