Job Overview
We are looking for a Senior Environmental Consultant to support UK infrastructure projects and aid the UK’s net zero commitments. You will work with technical experts in AECOM’s Environmental Impact (EIA) team across the UK and Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide Expertise, coordinate environmental inputs to EIA screening, scoping reports, environmental assessments, statements and technical review of specialist chapters across all project life stages.
* Ensure Quality, apply a critical eye for detail to maintain the highest quality standards.
* Project Management, develop project‑management skills by coordinating resources and budgets.
* Collaboration, work with integrated design teams to improve environmental outcomes, identify constraints and mitigation solutions.
* Client Contact, maintain direct contact with clients and internal supply teams.
* Business Development, promote AECOM’s environmental services and support business‑development opportunities.
* Flexible location across multiple UK and Ireland offices and a hybrid working model.
Qualifications
* Degree in a relevant environmental discipline (master’s preferred) and appropriate professional membership.
* Experience in EIA consultancy, including coordinating reports and technical review.
* Understanding of consenting regimes (DCO, TCPA, TWA, etc.).
* Collaborative team player with ability to coordinate specialist technical teams.
* Project‑management experience (programming and budget management).
* Strong verbal and report‑writing skills, technical reviewing, and confidence in stakeholder engagement.
* Experience with DCO or TWAO regimes is beneficial.
