Fixed Income & Liquidity Solutions Overview
Fixed Income and Liquidity Solutions, within Public Investing, manages more than $1.8 trillion* in assets for a variety of clients, including private wealth mandates and institutional clients such as insurance companies, pension funds, and endowments. The team has a long history of investing across public fixed income strategies including rates, currency, and credit on behalf of our clients. Investment ideas are created through collaboration between portfolio managers, research analysts, and traders.
Role Overview
We are looking for a candidate to join the Fixed Income Pensions Solutions portfolio management team, a fast-growing business within GSAM Fixed Income. GSAM Fixed Income Pension Solutions team is recognised as an industry leader in providing innovative solutions to pension clients. The team manages over £90 billion of fixed income assets across Cashflow Driven Investing (CDI), Buy and Maintain Credit, Liability Driven Investing (LDI) and other customised strategies for pension and other institutional clients globally. The ideal candidate is passionate about portfolio management, quantitative investment analysis, building and managing customised client portfolio solutions and supporting a high degree of client service. We welcome individuals who enjoy a fast-paced work environment and can leverage technical skills to manage portfolios, analyse investments, and who want to contribute to our investment process and client experience.
Responsibilities
1. Monitor portfolio market risk and positioning consistency across portfolios.
2. Model prospective portfolios and construct trades for LDI and Buy & Maintain and Cash Flow Matching portfolios based on investment guidelines.
3. Help develop investment strategies for each of our bespoke liability-driven and cashflow-driven fixed income accounts.
4. Analyse and attribute portfolio performance.
5. Develop opportunity specific solutions for clients’ pension plans, including recommendations on asset allocations, target leverage levels, hedge ratios, and preferred instruments for portfolio construction.
6. Partner with Technologists and Strategists to enhance and scale our analytics and technology.
7. Collaborate with the Client Solutions Group to ensure excellent client service, including providing market and portfolio commentary.
8. Support new business opportunities, improve our product proposition, and provide broad support to sales teams.
Qualifications
9. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required. CFA study preferred.
10. Strong quantitative, analytical and presentation skills, with excellent attention to detail.
11. Curious individual with strong critical thinking skills who enjoys problem-solving.
12. Knowledge and understanding of Fixed Income and Credit markets.
13. Understanding of portfolio construction, trading, or risk management techniques is preferred.
14. Excellent written and oral communication skills and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
15. Highly motivated with the ability to work independently as well as thrive within a fast-paced team environment.
