Job Description
This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months, covering maternity leave. The role involves working days from Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00, with flexibility for outside hours and potential weekend work.
How will you contribute?
You will develop, implement, and maintain an inventory strategy focused on continuous improvement to meet contract objectives related to inventory levels and stock availability.
* Reporting to the Distribution Centre Manager.
* Engaging with customers in person or via Teams.
* Managing contractual targets and KPIs within budget.
* Driving productivity and operational improvements.
* Planning and managing resources to meet operational needs.
* Building and maintaining excellent customer relationships.
* Ensuring compliance with H&S legislation.
* Managing inventory, reviewing results, identifying discrepancies, and reporting to senior management and customers.
* Collaborating with customers to resolve stock issues promptly.
* Investigating customer claims and rejections efficiently.
* Developing MIS reports for management and trend analysis.
* Enhancing procedures to improve stock accuracy.
* Reconciling stock levels between SAP and WMS and investigating discrepancies.
* Monitoring PI schedules and handling related queries.
* Managing stock takes, audits, and movements.
* Working closely with operations management to ensure system and process integrity.
* Leading, motivating, and developing the inventory team.
* Promoting a positive company culture at all levels.
* Providing accurate performance data internally and externally.
* Challenging existing practices and innovating to exceed KPIs.
* Collecting warehouse performance data.
* Covering Warehouse Operations Manager duties when needed.
* Forecasting stock and skills requirements.
* Managing consumable usage.
What will you bring?
* Experience with warehouse management systems.
* Ability to identify and implement change proactively.
* Proven supervisory or managerial experience.
* Customer-facing experience.
* Knowledge of disciplinary and grievance procedures.
* Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
* Flexible, team-oriented approach.
* General awareness of health and safety regulations.
