Our Applications Engineers enable the interface between the world’s leading analog, mixed-signal, and digital signal processing provider and its customers. Whether that involves creating content for customers (hardware, software, or documentation) or supporting customers from architecture design through to field issues, Applications Engineers play a vital role in every customer engagement at Analog Devices.
Essential Responsibilities
* Design multi-channel digital receivers and transmitters for phased-array, radar, electronic warfare, satellite communication, and military communication markets.
* Develop RF digital converter-centric hardware & software from concept (block diagrams) through productization.
* Analyze signal chains using RF cascade concepts such as gain, noise figure, linearity, and power.
* Engage with internal applications and marketing team members to translate system requirements into next-generation product definitions.
* Guide customers through system integration, troubleshooting, and testing.
Minimum Qualifications
The candidate should be self-motivated, capable of accepting responsibility, and show initiative in identifying and solving challenging technical problems.
* BS Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with 7+ years of applicable job experience.
* Strong knowledge of RF, analog, digital, and mixed-signal fundamentals.
* Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Written and verbal communication skills are a must.
* Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
* Experience with RF cascade analysis (gain, spurious, linearity, noise figure, etc.) and/or mixed-signal design.
* Experience in phased-array, radar, electronic warfare, satellite communication, or military communication a plus.
* Printed circuit board design experience and exposure to PCB design tools a plus.
* Lab diagnostic equipment knowledge (spectrum analyzer, signal generators, power supplies, oscilloscopes, etc.) a plus.
* Proficiency in MATLAB, Python scripting, and C/C++ software programming a plus.
Export Licensing
For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce – Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State – Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
