Job Description

We are Hestia. We make a difference.

At Hestia, we are guided by our core values and are dedicated to fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive organisation. We provide a range of services, including Domestic Abuse support, Modern Slavery assistance, Mental Health & Complex Needs care, and Criminal Justice. Our mission is to empower individuals to rebuild their lives and achieve independence.

The service you will work in…

Hestia Blackfen Recovery House (BRH) is situated at the heart of London Borough of Bexley, Blackfen Road. It provides 7-bedroom accommodation with 24-hour support in a non-clinical environment to vulnerable people experiencing mental health crises. Patients at BRH are under the care of the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment team (CRHTT), a multidisciplinary team offering care and treatment as a less restrictive alternative to hospital admission. We also provide step-down support to inpatients whose treatment has been optimized but are not yet ready to return home.

A day in this role looks like…

As a Team Manager at Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our Recovery service. Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards empowerment and independence.

A typical day may include:

* Supporting the Service Manager in the strategic development of Hestia's Greenwich service in line with contractual requirements.
* Managing operational hours that include evenings, nights, weekends, and bank holidays, as the service operates 365 days a year.
* Working closely with the Service Manager to ensure Recovery Workers and Peer Support staff listen and support individuals to de-escalate situations, develop self-management techniques, and advocate for their wishes.
* Developing, implementing, and maintaining partnerships and engagement strategies for the Crisis Café Service.
* Establishing joint working and monitoring protocols with key stakeholders and acting as the main point of contact for ongoing relationships.
* Managing service performance related to the contract, including analysis of KPIs, outcomes, and user experience measures.
* Leading team meetings and engaging staff in reflective supervision outside operational hours.
* Ensuring timely and accurate submission of reports on strategies to address underperformance, in line with contract requirements.
* Contributing to the development and implementation of the Crisis Café's annual Business and Equality plans.
* Monitoring and evaluating service delivery to ensure it remains relevant and effective.
* Ensuring the service meets standards of delivery in compliance with legislation, governance, contracts, and policies.

Why Hestia?

Joining Hestia means more than just a job; it's an opportunity to be part of something bigger. We offer a supportive, inclusive, and resolution-driven work environment where your contributions are valued. You will have the chance to grow both personally and professionally while making a lasting impact on those we serve.

We seek candidates who bring passion, expertise, and dedication, possessing:

* Experience managing services for people with mental health and complex needs.
* Experience in recruitment, induction, supervision, motivation, appraisal, training, disciplinary, and grievance procedures.
* Experience in performance monitoring and delivering high standards of service.
* Ability to manage complex budgets.
* Understanding of Mental Health Crisis Management and working with peer support workers.
* Knowledge of Community Care, Mental Health, Health and Safety, and welfare benefits legislation.
* Experience working in partnership with statutory mental health services.
* Skills in assessing, formulating, implementing, and monitoring support plans.
* Ability to promote the organization externally through presentations and marketing materials.
* Proficiency in MS Office systems.
