Corporate Law Paralegal

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday)
We’re working with an established and highly regarded law firm seeking a Corporate Law Paralegal to join their successful Corporate Law team in Ipswich.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious legal professional looking to build a long-term career in Corporate Law while gaining valuable qualifying work experience through the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) route. The role offers exposure to a broad range of corporate transactions, structured supervision, ongoing development, and dedicated study time to support qualification.
The Role
We are seeking a Corporate Law Paralegal to support fee earners on a wide range of corporate transactions and advisory matters, while developing their legal knowledge and progressing towards solicitor qualification.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with business sales and acquisitions
- Supporting share sale and share purchase transactions
- Drafting and preparing corporate documents and transaction packs
- Conducting legal research and due diligence exercises
- Preparing Companies House filings and maintaining corporate records
- Assisting with disclosure processes and transaction completion arrangements
- Managing transaction checklists and monitoring key deadlines
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients
- Providing excellent client care and responsive communication throughout matters
- Liaising with clients, accountants, financial advisers and other professional contacts
- Attending client meetings where appropriate
- Maintaining accurate matter files and records
- Ensuring compliance with firm policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
- Managing correspondence, file notes and document management systems
- Assisting with billing and general matter administration
- Participating in training and development programmes
- Attending departmental and firm-wide meetings
- Taking ownership of personal learning and professional development
About You
- Minimum 12 months' experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant within a Corporate Law environment
- Experience assisting with corporate transactions
- Knowledge of business sales and purchases and share sale/purchase transactions
- Experience drafting legal documents and professional correspondence
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
- Strong client care and relationship management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ambitious and motivated to qualify as a Solicitor via the SQE route
- Proactive, self‑motivated and eager to learn
- Team‑oriented with a collaborative approach
- Professional and client‑focused mindset.
Desirable
- Progress towards SQE qualification
- Previous experience within a busy Corporate or Commercial department
- Familiarity with Companies House procedures and filings
