Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Male Support Workers to join our incredible Floating Support team in Rochdale. We are looking for car driver with full UK Driving Licence - able to drive manual vehicles.

As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs - From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.

Floating Support is a service in the Rochdale, Middleton, Littleborough area that supports people in the community. This is not a ‘Domestic Service’ but may include household cleaning/laundry etc. Each person receives support hours depending on needs. These needs may include but not limited to Medication administration, budgeting, trips to the shops, socialising, hobbies, personal care, upkeep of home/tenancy, healthy eating.

Although we are initially looking for Relief staff - shifts may be any number of hours a week spread over certain days.

Eg: 11.5 hours a week, 1.5 a day, 2 on a Friday for shopping support or 10 hours a week, Mon 4hrs, Wed 3 hrs, Fri 3 hrs etc.

Staff will visit 3 or 4 people we support on each shift.

A good local knowledge of the Rochdale, Middleton, Littleborough areas needed and is essential to this role.

We are looking for car driver with full UK Driving Licence - able to drive manual vehicles.

* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.

Contract options :

* Relief – to cover Annual Leave/sickness

Shift times :

This service is not 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!

* Days: Anytime between 08:00-22:00
