Role overview - Production Planner;
Supporting the Operations Manager the Production Planner will be responsible for the control and development of end-to-end machine shop and assembly planning processes.
General duties & responsibilities of a Production Planner;
Use IFS software to control and develop end to end machine shop and assembly planning processes.
Load and capacity planning of Machine Shop and Assembly Area.
Schedule multiple operations including machining, sub con, inspection and assembly.
Develop and maintain useful status reporting (KPI’s) to ensure all departments can see progress against the plan.
Maintain predicted completion timing of each operation, and final predicted shipping timing for the full order book.
Analyse data and present this simply and visually to various levels within the organisation to enable logical improvement identification and decision making.
Interact with all departments to ensure all IFS inputs are correct and understood.
Ensure the load and available capacity by resource is always up to date for medium- and long-term planning decision making.
Ensure all departments are working to the same priorities, have clear and achievable completion targets.
Responsible for raising and closure of all works orders to enable efficient daily and weekly planning of the Machine Shop and Assembly Area.
Experience needed - Production Planner;
Strong knowledge of production planner systems preferred.
In depth understanding of MRP preferred.
Strong knowledge of machine and assembly capability preferred.
Experience working as a production planner with both internal and external supply teams.
Experience working in a fast-paced office environment.
Familiar with ERP systems and supply chain planning.
IFS experience preferred but not essential.
