New Skill Centre, Nacton, Ipswich, Suffolk IP3 9QR £32,500 - £43,000 per annum (pro rata) 2.5 days per week (0.5 FTE), Full time considered Permanent Reference: 0180 Main purpose and your role The New Skill Centre is a Special Independent SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) School catering for the needs of young people aged 11 to 19 years old, who are academically capable of achieving GCSE’S and other level 1 and 2 qualifications. All our students are gentle by nature and have an EHCP (Education Health Care Plan) with identified SEND needs. Class sizes typically consist of 4-6 students with experienced HLTA’s (Higher Level Teaching Assistants) in support. As the Teacher/Tutor of Music, you will have experience or willingness to develop knowledge of SEND and the ability to adapt teaching practice to meet individual needs of all students. This post would suit a Music Teacher/Tutor who is reliable, passionate and confident who would be able to facilitate engaging Music lessons catered to pupils needs, which enable to make good levels of progress. The ideal candidate will be an innovative and motivated individual who is able to deliver and further develop the Music curriculum, whilst working alongside and being part of a dedicated and friendly staff team. Consideration will be given to increasing the hours of the position, if the candidate has expertise in other subjects required by the school. Our most recent OFSTED inspection took place in June 2022 and we were rated with an overall outcome of GOOD. Pupil places are commissioned via Suffolk LA.
