Location: UK travel required 3-4 days per week + Location Independent Worker
Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits
Working Hours: Full time hours per week – Monday to Friday

Security Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain a UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.

As a Location Independent Worker, for operational reasons you may be required to perform your duties, either temporarily or permanently, from any of our offices or customer sites within a reasonable geographic area of your home address. Our “Office in a Box” home working kit will provide you with everything you need, no matter where you are.

What you’ll do

The Client Sales Manager will be the lead Client Sales Manager managing relationships with Defence Contractor/Prime customers, will be responsible for managing contracts and relationships, and growing VBSE’s footprint and revenue within these accounts. As part of their role, the Client Sales Manager will service existing relationships, hunt for new opportunities, develop new business and identify and propose capability from Vodafone’s solutions.


1. Be the lead Client Sales Manager within Defence Contractors/Primes, and accountable for coaching and mentoring the other Client Sales Managers.
2. Manage a diverse range of stakeholders across the customer base and internally within Vodafone, acting as part of the escalation process, implementing and managing local contingency plans to deal with internal/external business issues that impact upon revenue, cost and margin.
3. Deliver sales briefings remotely, at a Vodafone Secure Site or at customer premises within the United Kingdom being capable and credible to present to senior customer stakeholders.
4. Keep ahead of industry trends and client needs to anticipate and address potential challenges in acquisition activities, and use this data to continually develop the Defence Strategy.
5. Build a qualified pipeline across the Defence portfolio.
6. Exceed Net Promoter Scores (NPS) targets for all customers.
7. Produce account development plans, opportunity close plans, prepare customer proposals and manage the full lifecycle of the sale from won to transition and into delivery and beyond.




Who you are


8. Strong communication skills to guide, influence and convince others (including customers, partners and third parties)
9. Excellent external communication is required (up to CxO level)
10. Negotiation skills internally and externally at senior levels
11. Judgement based on analysis of factual and qualitative information in complicated or new situations
12. Expert knowledge on the Defence sector in order to articulate Defence requirements into technical outputs
