The Vacancy
Platform Housing Group, one of the largest social housing providers in the Midlands, is seeking experienced housing professionals to lead our Localities team.
We are looking for a confident and committed Housing Operations Manager to oversee a neighbourhood team in Leicestershire, managing two high-rise housing schemes in Leicester.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing professional to take on a high-profile position, managing daily housing operations and fostering safe, engaged communities for our customers.
Our customers and communities are central to our mission. This role focuses on improving neighbourhoods, enhancing tenancy sustainability, and positioning Platform as the landlord of choice.
As Housing Operations Manager, you will line-manage a small but high-performing team, ensuring service excellence, case oversight, and collaboration across departments. You will handle escalations, complex tenancy issues, and engage with external stakeholders such as police, fire services, social care, and compliance teams.
You will also work closely with other managers to keep policies current, compliant, and aligned with company strategy and best practices.
You will lead on customer complaints and inquiries, using feedback to drive continuous improvement. Additionally, you will ensure team safety and compliance in areas like Fire and Building Safety, Health & Safety, lone working, and gas safety. Safeguarding and domestic abuse awareness will be key aspects of your role, supporting good practice and case management.
About You
You should bring strong housing management experience, proactive leadership, and an understanding of the needs in high-density housing environments. Comfort navigating anti-social behaviour, safeguarding, domestic abuse, and tenancy disputes is essential.
Qualifications and skills include:
* Proven leadership in housing or neighbourhood services
* Decisiveness in managing sensitive or urgent cases
* Strong knowledge of tenancy law and current practices
* Excellent collaboration and influencing skills with external partners
* Commitment to inclusive, customer-focused service
* Experience coaching and developing frontline teams
Ideally, you will live within 20 minutes of our Leicester high-rise locations (De Montfort House and Elizabeth House) and be available for out-of-hours emergency response via an on-call rota. A basic DBS check will be required.
