Job Description
1. Laboratory work: Plan and carry out experiments and analysis, as outlined by the project lead, to ensure effective technology transfer and development of fit-for-purpose processes in line with customer requirements. Record all laboratory work in standard official notebooks and compile results and observations for incorporation into technical reports, adhering to relevant procedures. Communicate with clients professionally as required. Ensure the laboratory and associated areas are maintained in a controlled and compliant manner, with safety and hygiene standards upheld, including compliance with COSHH and risk assessments.
2. Quality: Follow laboratory procedures to ensure safety, effectiveness, and quality standards; adhere to protocols and procedures.
3. Manufacturing Support: Collaborate with technical personnel across departments to exchange information and results, support first-time manufacturing operations, troubleshoot scaled-up processes, and provide technical support. Provide on-the-job training to new or inexperienced personnel in laboratory procedures and equipment use.
4. Critical Tasks: Ensure project timelines are met, maintain data accuracy, and identify opportunities for efficiency, cost control, and safety improvements.
5. Key Result Areas & Measures: Contribute to development projects through experimental effort, assist in data collation for reporting, work within operational and ESH guidelines, and meet financial deliverables.
6. Competencies: Knowledge of protein modification and conjugation chemistry, protein structure/function, organic chemistry, ADC/protein purification, data interpretation, laboratory reporting, and independent analytical thinking.
7. Qualifications: Higher degree in Chemistry with at least 1 year of relevant experience or a degree with at least 2 years of experience. Good knowledge of process development and protein chemistry/analysis.
