Job Details
We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Inclusion Assistant (Grade 6) to join our team. This is a key role within our school, reflecting our commitment to ensuring that every child is supported to thrive, both academically and personally.
This role has been designed to strengthen our inclusive practice across the school. You will work closely with a small group of children with additional needs, acting as a consistent and trusted adult for them and their families, alongside our SENCo and Inclusion Manager and with class teachers in adapting inclusive in class learning.
Salary: NJC Grade 6 £27,254 - 28,598 (Pro-Rata)
Contract Type: Permanent - Term Time Only
Working Pattern: 18 hours per week, Wednesday to Friday
Location: St. Augustine's CE Primary School, Scaynes Hill

What You Need to Succeed
Responsibilities
* Support pupils with a range of needs, including SEND, social, emotional and mental health needs, and those requiring additional pastoral support
* Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, families and external professionals
* Work alongside the SENCo to develop and implement personalised support plans and strategies
* Help pupils to access learning, develop independence and regulate their emotions
* Contribute to improving attendance and engagement for vulnerable pupils
* Support staff in delivering high-quality, inclusive classroom practice
Qualifications
* Is a skilled and empathetic communicator, able to build trust with children and families
* Has experience of working with children with additional needs
* Is proactive, reflective and committed to inclusive education
* Can work both independently and as part of a team
* Shares our commitment to high expectations and strong relationships
