6‑Month Contract | Onsite - Edinburgh | Inside IR35
Overview
A fast‑growing engineering tech organisation is seeking a Senior Firmware/FPGA Engineer to design and verify advanced FPGA sub‑systems. This is a hands‑on, multidisciplinary role working onsite in a modern R&D environment.
Responsibilities
1. Design FPGA architectures, IP cores, and full SoC RTL (VHDL/Verilog)
2. Build verification testbenches and ensure strong coverage
3. Work with high‑speed SERDES (up to 28G/56G) and multi‑frequency clocking
4. Use Intel/AMD toolchains for synthesis and timing
5. Collaborate across hardware/embedded teams using Git/SVN
Required Skills
6. Degree in Electronic/Electrical/Computer Engineering or similar
7. Strong FPGA design experience (VHDL/Verilog)
8. Intel or Xilinx design tool experience
9. High‑speed digital design + SERDES exposure
10. Ability to meet tight delivery timelines
11. Eligible for UK National Security Vetting
