About the role

We are recruiting for ambitious and hard-working Assistant Buyers to join our Home and Clothing (F&F) teams. As an Assistant Buyer, you will work with a Buying Manager to plan and deliver the most commercial and profitable ranges to meet our customers’ needs. These roles suit someone who is already an established Assistant Buyer seeking a new challenge.

You will be responsible for
* Helping to build and source customer/market insight led ranges and product innovation
* Supporting the manager to manage supplier performance
* Leading product setup within Tesco proprietary systems ready for sale
* Identifying potential new suppliers and helping to build long term supplier relationships
* Providing support to ensure the category has a long term, customer led plan which drives loyalty
* Conducting regular store/website visits and reviewing customer insight and trends to shape future product and range requirements
* Negotiating with suppliers with support from the manager to improve the trading position in a sustainable way
* Supporting delivery of the department’s trade, promotions/marketing and events plan to exceed KPI forecasts and drive footfall
* Supporting Tesco Business Services and Supply Chain to get products in all channels on time
* Working with suppliers and the category quality team to ensure product quality is maintained
* Loading Commercial Income and ensuring suppliers are invoiced correctly, managing over-charges, under-charges and aged debt weekly
* Briefing, developing and managing all artwork and POS
* Adhering to Tesco policies, storage and handover protocols and completing training
* Manage GHS setup

* Annual bonus scheme of up to 10% of base salary
