Waste Infrastructure Officer
Bankhead Depot

Salary:, £33, - £39,
Hours: 36 per week

This a new role, suitable for someone with project management experience, experience of making changes to operations and sites in a waste management, transportation, or similar industrial environment, together with an understanding of Health and Safety procedures, risk and corrective actions.

The successful candidate will co-ordinate repairs and improvements to infrastructure across all waste management facilities across Edinburgh. They will aid compliance with the Waste Management Licences and other legislation, as well as coordinating 'duty holder' activities such as fire warden, First aider provision, Risk assessments and H&S inspections. They will work with the contracts team to specify and procure maintenance contracts for various infrastructure and equipment used by the service, as well as organising inspections and maintaining records.

The ability to work with a wide variety of people, from contracts officers to front line operational teams as well as to deal with contractors is necessary for this role, as is an ability to 'think on their feet', be creative and always seek to improve working practices and infrastructure.

Applicants should hold a Certificate of Technical Competency (COTC) level 4 in Transfer of Hazardous Waste or be able to gain this qualification within three years of employment commencing.

Applicants should be computer literate, able to deal with enquiries on various systems, report incidents, design basic recording sheets and forms, maintain electronic records and use email and other computer systems to a proficient level.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
