Job Overview
An opportunity has arisen to appoint a Band 5 Biomedical Scientist onto our existing Cellular Pathology team. All posts will be based in our purpose‑built laboratory facility at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd in Bodelwyddan. The role is open to HCPC‑registered BMS or to those with IBMS‑approved Biomedical Scientist degrees who will complete their portfolio in the next 12 months. Candidates not HCPC‑registered will be paid as Trainee Biomedical Scientist at annex 21 of a Band 5. Starting salary does not meet the requirements for a sponsorship visa.
Main duties of the job
Our Cellular Pathology service is continually developing with an exciting programme to deliver the latest in mechanised slide scanning technology and computational pathology. Any new scientist joining our team will be central to delivering the future of Cellular Pathology in North Wales, working together to meet the needs of clinical service users and developing service repertoire while protecting and progressing quality and effectiveness. Successful applicants will be encouraged to develop and extend their experience in all areas of the department. This is a fantastic opportunity for newly qualified (or soon to be assessed) scientists.

Qualifications
* BSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent.
* State Registration with the HCPC or expected within 12 months.
Desirable Qualifications
* Evidence of ongoing personal development.
Experience
Essential criteria
* Experience of working in a laboratory using manual and automated techniques (sufficient experience).
Desirable criteria
* General familiarity with common computer software (Microsoft Office).

Knowledge
