If your answer is “ yes! ” then Happy Energy Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced, detail-focused Domestic Energy and Retrofit Assessor to support the delivery of PAS 2035:2023-compliant retrofit programmes across Essex. This is an opportunity to work within a highly structured, compliance-led environment delivering large-scale decarbonisation programmes for housing associations and local authorities in domestic homes. The Role As a Domestic Energy and Retrofit Assessor, you will: Undertake RdSAP assessments and produce accurate EPRs / EPCs Complete full PAS2035 Retrofit Assessments, including condition, occupancy, ventilation and HHSRS assessments Capture high-quality photographic and documentary evidence including a LIDAR scan of each property Use digital surveying tools and data platforms to record findings Identify potential risks including damp and mould, ventilation inadequacies and building pathology concerns Liaise with Retrofit Coordinators and Designers to ensure robust improvement option development Represent HESL professionally within occupied domestic properties whilst supporting any vulnerable residents This is a mobile, field-based role supported by a structured technical and quality assurance team. Essential Requirements Qualified Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) Qualified Retrofit Assessor (Level 3 Award in Domestic Retrofit Assessment) Level 3 Certificate in Retrofitting of Traditional Buildings Knowledge of Elmhurst and ECMK EPC systems Demonstrable experience delivering PAS2035 retrofit assessments - at least 1 year Strong understanding of building construction types and defects Confident use of digital data capture systems Full UK driving licence Desirable Experience working on National Government or Local Authority funded programmes Knowledge of Building Regulations and ventilation requirements Experience using PAShub / Ecosurv or equivalent retrofit data platforms Experience identifying HHSRS hazards What We Offer Competitive salary (dependent on experience) 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays Private medical insurance Company vehicle Employee Assistance Programme Ongoing CPD and professional development Structured quality assurance support Opportunity to progress into Senior Assessor or Retrofit Coordination roles Why Join HESL?
