The opportunity
Project: We are currently looking for a project planner to be based in Cardiff, Wales working in the transportation sector. The role will be supporting a major port infrastructure project.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Leads application of specific planning/scheduling methods, techniques and tools.
2. Good working knowledge of planning/scheduling, EVM, project controls methodologies
3. Ability to advise on complex requirements and communicate analysis and corrective measures effectively.
4. Able to manage planning/scheduling delivery of medium/high complexity projects/programmes.
5. Ability to play key role in multidisciplinary teams and take lead role in creating plans or analysing trends using numerical and statistical techniques.
6. Leads and manages a team of professionals delivering planning/schedule management services and responsible for staff development.
7. Validating and checking schedule management inputs, recording, producing reports, providing basic commentary and analysis
8. Creating and delivering persuasive presentations to large audiences to influence the client to accept proposals and recommendation
About you
You have excellent written communication skills, clear and concise. You have an in-depth knowledge of schedule management tools and software. You understand data management and can use it to provide effective and timely advice to clients. You stay up to date with key indsutry and professional trends. You clearly understand the role and future career paths available from that position.
You have the ability to persuade and influence your colleagues to satisfy the customer requirements. You are happy to tackle problems with complex solutions. You can delegate tasks to others when required. You can sell the business and look to win work when possible.
You have a degree or equivalent with professional work experience in one or more specific disciplines in the construction, programme, project or commercial management disciplines. You have the relevant CSCS card.
