Job Description

3 months contract with a local authority


Job Purpose

* To provide high-quality social work services to children and young people who are looked after by the local authority, including those aged 16 and over. The role involves undertaking assessments, coordinating care plans, and ensuring that children and young people receive the appropriate support and services to meet their needs. The postholder will work collaboratively with families, carers, and multi-agency professionals to safeguard and promote the welfare of children in care.

Key Duties/Accountabilities

* Undertake ongoing assessments and interventions with children and families in line with statutory requirements
* Progress care plans and ensure timely access to appropriate services
* Act as Case Manager and Key Worker for children with CLA plans
* Coordinate and attend review meetings, ensuring the child’s voice is central to planning
* Complete and contribute to Child & Family Assessments
* Identify and assess children in need in accordance with the Children’s Services Plan

Essential Experience Required

* Proven experience working with children and families within a statutory social work setting
* Strong understanding of legislation and guidance relating to Children Looked After
* Experience in multi-agency working and care planning

Essential Qualification Required

* Registration with Social Work England.
* Degree in Social Work or equivalent

Additional information to note

* Working hours: 37 hours per week
* Hybrid working available
* Enhanced DBS with barred list is required.
* Must submit completed DfE cover letter with CV. Submissions without the cover sheet will be rejected.
