Classroom Support Assistant - Autism Support - Oxford\n\nAn exciting opportunity has opened for a dedicated and compassionate Classroom Support Assistant to join a specialist school in Oxford, supporting pupils aged 4 to 16. This is a rewarding role where you'll play a vital part in helping students with Autism thrive both academically and emotionally.\n\nAbout the Role:\n\nAs a Classroom Support Assistant, you'll work closely with teaching staff to support students on a 1:1 and small group basis. Your role will be to help create a structured, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where every child can succeed.\n\nMany of the students also experience additional needs such as anxiety, ADHD, or social communication difficulties.
Your role will involve offering emotional reassurance, promoting positive behaviour, and adapting activities to meet individual learning styles.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nSupporting pupils with autism and related needs in the classroom\nAssisting with the delivery of engaging, accessible lessons across the curriculum\nWorking 1:1 or with small groups to help students reach their potential\nHelping to manage behaviour positively and consistently\nEncouraging social interaction and communication skills\nCollaborating with teachers and therapists to ensure individual learning plans are followedWe're looking for someone who is:\n\nPatient, empathetic, and resilient\nConfident working with children with special educational needs\nAble to build trust and positive relationships with students\nAdaptable and proactive in a dynamic classroom environmentPrevious experience in SEN, care, or education is desirable but not essential.
