Job Title: Assistant Management Accountant – Operations Location: Birmingham Salary: Competitive Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5:15pm. 37.5 hours per week. We are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to support in the successful and accurate completion of the monthly management accounts and financial reporting, forecasting & budgeting processes for Central functions, Cross Border costs and income, Fixed and ROU assets, Payroll and other areas of shared Operating Expenditure for all UK entities such as Rent & Rates and Insurance, supporting in the preparation of analysis and insight to the business on the financial performance in these areas. Key Responsibilities: Support month-end and year-end financial close processes, including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis for UK central costs (e.g. Payroll, Insurance, Rent, Fixed Assets). Assist in producing financial, non-financial, and KPI reports (monthly, quarterly, annually) for central and shared cost areas. Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning across all central business functions. Provide financial analysis, including Payroll and FTE reporting, to support performance review and challenge. Maintain financial controls, intercompany invoicing, and accurate reconciliations (accruals, prepayments, intercompany). Support maintenance of SAP-RE-FX and Fixed Asset ledgers, ensuring accurate asset and lease accounting. Assist with external audits, ad hoc financial tasks, and continuous improvement initiatives using LEAN principles. Partner with key stakeholders and finance colleagues to improve insight, drive efficiency, and support strategic objectives. What We’re Looking For: Strong experience in financial and management accounting, including journal posting, P&L analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation. Skilled in analysing large data sets using Excel and finance systems, with the ability to build models and provide insightful commentary. Proven ability to meet tight deadlines with high accuracy and attention to detail. Track record of identifying and delivering process improvements that drive value. Confident, motivated, and personable with strong communication and teamwork skills. Excellent analytical, time management, and organisational abilities; adaptable under pressure and capable of managing multiple tasks. Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Advanced Excel) and experienced with SAP; currently studying towards a professional accountancy qualification.
