Base Location: Royal Bournemouth Hospital - requires cross site working at Poole Hospital

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Completed Accredited BSc in Biomedical Science
2. Registration with HCPC.
3. IBMS specialist portfolio or equivalent post graduate knowledge e.g. competency based evidence of specialist techniques
Desirable criteria
4. MSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent area of specialty
Experience
Essential criteria
5. Demonstrable experience of working in Haematology, Coagulation and Transfusion
6. Experience of working in a UKAS ISO 15189 and MHRA approved laboratory
7. Experience of working shifts over a 24/7 period
Technical Skills Competencies
Essential criteria
8. Good interpretive skills at bench level
9. Good attention to detail and accuracy
10. Knowledge of common IT software
11. Handling biological specimens
Desirable criteria
12. Familiarity with database and spread sheet software.
13. Familiarity with Quality Management Software
14. Familiarity with Winpath software
Knowledge
Essential criteria
15. Willing and able to learn new skills.
16. Currently participating in CPD
17. A good understanding of Haematology/ Coagulation and Transfusion Science
Desirable criteria
18. Ability to train junior staff to work in accordance to SOPs
