Regional Manager

Bellshill or Edinburgh

42 Hours

£65000 per annum


Main Purpose:


As a member of the senior management team within a defined contract area, you will have full operational and financial accountability for the delivery of GEOAmey operations / activities. You will proactively lead and motivate an operational team to look after the people in our care with respect and dignity. You will perform a client-facing role, ensuring business KPI’s are achieved and customer service levels and expectations are exceeded.


Key tasks:

Delivering Excellence

* Lead on performance and contract management of defined contract area
* Develop and manage key relationships internally and externally
* Analyse performance of areas of activity in relation to performance targets
* Develop strategies and business plans to ensure contractual delivery and support business growth
* Manage and mitigate risk across a variety of platforms
* Lead cross-functional teams in cost reduction initiatives to improve competitiveness
* Manage overall contract performance, within a secure environment, with regular site visits and performance reviews
* Responsible for specific client relationship(s), with regular review of contract performance and proactive management of issues.
* Manage the operational team to deliver the contract expectations, contract KPI’s and overall performance objectives.


Financial Management:

* Own the P&L & balance sheet performance and implement the business plan, ensuring the profitable delivery of a £multi-million devolved profit and loss account.
* Compile annual budgetary targets for agreed contractual area.
* Act in a high profile compliance role whilst maintaining budgets and minimising commercial risk.
* Deliver / improve upon agreed margins and cash flows.
* Lead, review and challenge contract budgets and forecasts to ensure consistent, challenging but deliverable approach adopted.


People & Performance:

* Delivery of strategic ‘People Plans’ with a focus on succession planning, talent mapping and performance management.
* Report and communicate regularly and effectively with the senior management team.
* Line manage the first and second line Operational Management Teams within contractual area.
* Contribute to meeting the strategic objectives of GEOAmey by driving continual performance improvement.
* Work with HR Team to foster a proactive employee relations and engagement culture, including relationships with recognised trade unions.
* Create a cohesive team.
* Demonstrate well-developed communication and relationship management as well as influencing skills.


Leading Change:

* Proven change/project management experience.
* Deliver the strategic changes required to transform the business culture.
* Ability to continually improve the quality and effectiveness of all activities through the implementation of recognised continuous improvement techniques.
* Communicates change effectively and ensure the business objectives are championed.
* Proven ability to manage, develop and motivate multiple teams.
* Able to interpret the policies, procedures and aspirations of the business, to cover grey or unclear areas that may present themselves during the delivery of contractual operations.


Health, Safety & Compliance:

* Accountable for health and safety culture which ensures safe processes, procedures and behaviours as well as continuous improvement through best practice activities.
* Manage the application of Company's management, monitoring and control mechanisms, to ensure compliance and adherence to statutory and legal requirements with contractual area.
* Understand the operation, the planning process and all other business system processes and ensure consistent application of GEOAmey SOP’s across the Region
* Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety, quality and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all employees, visitors and those we deal with. Manage risk within the area and team incorporate Health and Safety considerations into the planning and organisation of resources and making sure staff are aware of the importance and follow our safety protocol.

Key Competencies:


Essential:

* Role model and displays outstanding attitude and behaviours.
* Extensive proven general/logistics operational management experience.
* Ability to communicate and influence effectively, diplomatically and robustly at all levels of seniority and with a wide range of personalities
* Able to build meaningful relationships and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
* An adaptive leader, people manager and coach
* Handle emotive issues with sensitivity and confidentiality, whilst applying knowledge and judgement to informally resolve situations
* Significant experience of working within a short lead time environment
* High levels of motivation, flexibility and the ability to work on own initiative.
* A focus on cost within a no failure environment.
* A proven track record of leading a large geographically dispersed team.
* The ability to influence stakeholders, whilst driving change and operational improvement within a diverse business.
* Highly confident in challenging the status-quo to positively influence and support achievement of business objectives


Desirable:

* Knowledge of operating in a secure environment, some knowledge of judicial systems and processes, and understanding of the operation of the criminal justice system.

* All roles within GEOAmey are subject to a risk assessment being completed to confirm the vetting status required for the applicant / job holder to undertake the duties of the role. This role has been risk assessed as requiring Enhance Level Clearance
