The Role:
As Turning Cell Leader, you will be responsible for the preparation, programming, setting, and operation of CNC lathes (Fanuc/G-code) to carry out high-quality turning and drilling operations. You'll oversee daily production, ensure quality standards are met, and work closely with the Machine Shop Manager to achieve production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Program, set, and operate CNC lathes (Fanuc controls – G-code essential)
* Load raw materials and components efficiently into machines
* Carry out precision inspection of finished parts using measuring equipment
* Perform daily machine checks and support preventative maintenance
* Maintain high standards of safety and quality in line with ISO 9001
* Lead by example within the cell, supporting continuous improvement efforts
The Candidate
* Proven experience in CNC lathe programming and setting (Fanuc/G-code)
* Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
* Confident in using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
* Strong understanding of turning processes and mechanical principles
* Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
* A proactive, team-focused approach with leadership capability
* £18.00 per hour + regular overtime
