Academic Support Assistant Location: Chester le Street Working hours: 8:30am – 4pm Leader Education are seeking a passionate Academic Support Assistant to join a specialist PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) in Durham. The provision supports pupils from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4 who are at risk of or have experienced exclusion from mainstream education. The school are committed to maintaining high aspirations for every young person, ensuring they continue to follow the National Curriculum as closely as possible. Pupil engagement is at the heart of this academy, with unique learning opportunities ranging from a forest school—where students can forage and build campfires—to a “grow-your-own” garden on the school grounds, allowing hands-on experiences that connect learning with nature and practical skills.
