2 x PERSONAL ASSISTANT JOB VACANCY – SATURDAY AND SUNDAYCar DriverHOURS – SATURDAY AND SUNDAY – 6 hours per week during term time (either 3 hours Saturday and 3 hours Sunday or 6 hours over 1 weekend day & 12 hours per week during school holidays. We can be flexible in the school holidays regarding days and times but ideally 4 hours a day for 3 days.RATE OF PAY - Based in ROTHWELL LS26We are looking for 2 x personal assistants to work together to support our 8-year-old son access fun and enjoyable activities in the community. Training will be offered.Alex is an amazing little boy who is extremely active. He loves to go to parks, play areas, and has a specific interest in trucks. He also loves to bake, watch his devices (tablet and phone), and water play.Alex has a diagnosis of Autism and ADHD. He is pre-verbal and can show extremely challenging and violent behavior's which will sometimes require intervention. He MUST wear his safety reigns when out in the community as he absconds at any opportunity and he is very fast. Meeting new people can be very challenging for Alex and it may take some time for him to build a bond.THE ROLE -
To accompany young person to relevant activities in the community (e.g. park, play area, meals out with the family)
To help young person at home with activities (e.g. baking, playing, water play)
Carrying out personal care needs
Working alongside another PA to best support needs
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR -
A kind, caring person who has experience with children/young people with Autism and ADHD
Experience with young people with challenging behaviour is ESSENTIAL
Someone who is passionate about caring for individuals with special educational needs.
Someone who is fit and able to run if Alex manages to abscond.
Someone who is fit and able to use physical intervention when needed
Someone who is attentive and quick thinking
The ideal candidate must work well with others
Full, clean DBS
Full driving license as some driving of Motability vehicle may be required.
Someone who can be flexible if needed.
