Estates Technician
Location: Oakham, Rutland

We are recruiting on behalf of a highly respected education organisation seeking an Estates Technician to join their professional estates team. This is a varied and practical role supporting a large, diverse estate that combines heritage buildings with modern sports and learning facilities.

The Role
As an Estates Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the estate is safe, compliant, and well maintained. Your responsibilities will include:
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on systems including fire alarms, emergency lighting, ventilation, water systems, and evacuation alarms.
* Completing minor maintenance and remedial works such as basic repairs, replacements, and system resets.
* Using a tablet-based CAFM system to log, update, and close jobs accurately.
* Supporting the upkeep of a wide range of facilities, including sports centres, swimming pools, fitness suites, and historic buildings.
* Working closely with colleagues and external contractors on larger maintenance projects.
* Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety procedures and compliance standards.
About You
Were looking for someone practical, reliable, and proactive, with:
* Experience in a facilities, estates, or maintenance role (such as schools, hospitals, leisure centres, or commercial buildings).
* A hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good attention to detail, particularly in specialist or heritage environments.
* Basic IT skills and confidence using digital systems (or willingness to learn).
* A strong understanding of health & safety and compliance.
