As a valued team member reporting directly to the Health & Safety Manager, you will contribute to delivering a progressive and proactive health and safety service. Your efforts will ensure that exemplary health and safety standards are upheld, enabling a responsive service aligned with the Council's priorities. You will be instrumental in risk mitigation and promoting industry best practices.
To succeed in this role, you should have proven experience in developing and implementing a compliant health and safety management system. A strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and its practical applications is essential. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, a team player, with excellent communication skills, adept at building relationships with stakeholders, and hands-on in addressing health and safety challenges.
Desirable Experience:
* Managing health and safety in construction or utility sectors
* Occupational health and health surveillance expertise
* Delivering health and safety training programs

Successful candidates for Regulated Roles under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020 will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check before employment is confirmed. The cost of the check will be deducted from the first salary, with possible installment options. If employment ends before deduction, the full amount will be recovered from the final salary. Existing employees applying for such roles are also subject to these criteria.
