Project Manager (Mid and West Wales Strategic Culture Partnership)

Job description

About the role:
The Mid and West Wales Strategic Culture Partnership aims to develop a Cultural Vision for Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Powys, along with individual Culture Priority Plans for each authority for the next five years. These will be closely aligned with Welsh Government Priorities for Culture. The Project Manager will manage and deliver the project for the Mid and West Wales region, working closely with the four local authorities and stakeholder networks. They will also lead on commissioning consultancy work, co-ordinating research and engagement, and oversee and support delivery of defined projects. In total there are ten distinct workstreams: five strategic workstreams [WS1-5], along with five specific projects [WS6-10].
About you:
• Proven sector experience in museums, libraries or archives
• Experience of successful project management and delivery
• Experience of building successful collaborative working with partners and other agencies that command respect, trust and confidence
• Ability to connect with others and form positive relationships.
• Excellent leadership and motivational skills that encourage commitment from others.
• Excellent ICT skills – able to draft well produced reports and use a range of ICT applications and tools.
What you will do:
The main responsibilities of the post are to:
• To take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the Mid and West Wales Strategic Culture Partnership project, ensuring workstreams are developed, implemented and completed within the project timeframe, through an achievable project delivery plan
• To manage and oversee the project budget of £300,000 ensuring effective and efficient financial control at all times. To be responsible for monitoring expenditure and costs, and meeting grant funder requirements around finance management and payments
• Relationship building is key to this role and the Project Manager will seek to strengthen and build strong relationships between regional council officers and members, public sector agencies and other stakeholder networks.
• To prepare and present reports on project status in order to provide accurate and clear information to stakeholders, elected members, senior managers, and Welsh Government
