Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band Physiotherapist to join the Early Supported Discharge (ESD) Team.

This post will involve working as part of multi-disciplinary team (MDT) providing a day service to patients eligible for the Oxfordshire ESD Service. The scheme is closely linked with the Acute Stroke Unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital and most patients are referred from here, although referrals are also taken from other areas seeing acute stroke patients.

The post holder will manage their own caseload providing a high standard of physiotherapy to patients in the community. Delivery of interventions needs to be timely and responsive due to the needs of the client group, and effective team working is a key requirement of this role.

The post holder will also be expected to supervise and teach physiotherapists, therapy assistants and students. A proactive and creative approach to achieving learning and development objectives will be an advantage, as well as undertaking evidence based projects, including recommendations for change and development in practice and service provision.

The post holder should be an enthusiastic and self-motivated therapist who is able to show initiative and help contribute to the further development of the service alongside other members of the MDT.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to have an informal conversation with one the lead recruiters prior to applying.

- To supervise and teach recently qualified physiotherapists, rehabilitation assistants and physiotherapy students.
