We are pleased to recruit a post of Locum Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with expertise in Complex Trauma with an interest in Primary Hip and Knee Arthroplasty, based at University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust.
* The successful candidate will be expected to play an active role in the management of complex orthopaedic trauma, including major trauma cases, as well as contributing to the delivery of a high-quality primary hip and knee arthroplasty service. The post-holder will participate fully in the consultant on-call rota and support the continued development of trauma and elective services within the department.
* The appointee will contribute to the training, supervision, and mentorship of junior doctors and allied healthcare professionals, and to provide expert advice and support to consultant colleagues.
* The Trauma and Orthopaedics Department at UHCW has experienced a sustained increase in both trauma workload and elective referrals. In order to meet service demands, maintain compliance with national targets including the 18-week referral-to-treatment pathway, and support ambulatory and major trauma pathways, the Trust is seeking to strengthen its consultant workforce.
