Digital Workspaces provides technical infrastructure, used directly by DWP colleagues and citizens, and by other Digital services. It does this through seven main Product areas, one of which is Workplace Computing. The Workplace Computing - End User Devices (EUD) team own a complex set of desktop products. We are responsible for providing, building, deploying, tracking, managing and disposing of laptops, peripherals and printers for approximately 125k Civil Servants, Other Government Departments, contractors and suppliers. The volume and complexity of that operation is significant, relying heavily on a mix of in-house expertise and an extensive supply chain. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the Workplace Computing Hardware Asset Management Team responsible for circa 125k devices throughout their lifecycle. You will work as part of a close team facilitating the management of end user devices in the asset management (HAM) repository to ensure they can be tracked throughout the HAM lifecycle from procurement to disposal. The right candidate will have excellent problem solving skills, a keen eye for detail, experience of working with complex data sets and will be proficient in Excel and ideally ServiceNow experience. Job Description: As an Hardware Asset Manager, you will follow defined procedures to identify, track, control and report on defined hardware assets and associated data. The job role includes uploading device assets into ServiceNow asset repository (specialist access and training), cleansing and correcting asset data. You will provide subject matter expert (SME) support to all staff managing devices, developing asset management processes and resolving update or process issues sometimes with suppliers or other key stakeholders. In addition, you will audit Hardware Asset management data to check for accuracy and address / recommend any corrective actions as may be necessary. This role produces performance reports and dashboards to the team, senior management and wider stakeholders. You will have the autonomy to work directly with stakeholders as necessary and manage their expectations and m ake decisions every day about the actions needed to resolve any issues. This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account. Salary Information New entrants to the Civil Service will join on band minimum. Existing Civil Servants who secure a new role on lateral transfer should maintain their current salary. Existing Civil Servants who gain promotion may move to the bottom of the grade pay scale or 10% increase in salary whichever would be the greater. Experience of a uditing Hardware asset management data to check for accuracy and address / recommend corrective actions. Update Hardware asset data as part of the implementation of a change, for example the procurement of new devices. An initial sift will be conducted using the technical statement. Candidates who pass the initial sift will be progressed to a full sift.
