Overview
We are seeking a motivated and recently qualified Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer (Improver) to join our expanding building services team. This role is ideal for an engineer who has recently completed their City & Guilds Level 3 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning and F‑Gas Category 1 qualification, and is looking to gain practical, on‑the‑job experience under the guidance of experienced professionals.
You will support the delivery of planned maintenance, fault diagnosis, repairs, and installation of a wide range of air conditioning and refrigeration systems across commercial and light industrial sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist senior engineers with the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning and refrigeration systems, including split, multi‑split, and VRV/VRF units.
* Carry out routine preventative maintenance and performance checks.
* Support with fault finding, leak testing, pressure testing, evacuation, and refrigerant charging.
* Accurately complete service sheets, job reports, and asset documentation using digital tools or paperwork.
* Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental policies.
* Communicate effectively with customers, site personnel, and office staff.
* Attend additional training and manufacturer courses as required to further develop technical knowledge.
Qualifications & Experience
* City & Guilds Level 3 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (7189 or equivalent).
* F‑Gas Category 1 (City & Guilds 2079 or equivalent).
* Good understanding of refrigeration and air conditioning principles and system components.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
* Some experience assisting with air conditioning installation or maintenance.
* Basic electrical knowledge or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
