About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Drainage Operative to join our Repairs and Maintenance team, following an internal promotion. This practical, hands-on role involves a variety of tasks to help maintain our properties to a high standard. Responsibilities include unblocking sinks, baths, and drains using jetting machines and drainage rods, as well as clearing, repairing, and replacing guttering and down pipes. The role also involves carrying out minor plumbing repairs, such as fixing or replacing wastes and traps. A commitment to quality workmanship, good customer service, and working well within a team is essential.
Role Responsibilities & Criteria:
1. Fix leaking waste pipes and perform minor plumbing repairs, using practical know-how and a problem-solving mindset
2. Support cleaning and waste collection duties (training provided), with flexibility and a willingness to learn new skills
3. Work collaboratively within the Repairs and Maintenance team, where strong teamwork and reliability are essential
4. Deliver excellent customer service across all tasks, maintaining a professional and customer-focused attitude
5. Communicate effectively with colleagues and residents, using clear verbal communication and good interpersonal skills
6. Make decisions and solve problems independently when needed, demonstrating confidence and initiative
7. Maintain high standards of safety, quality and cost control, with a methodical and dependable approach to work
