Purpose of role The Team Leader is responsible for leading a team of legal administrators providing a Client Matter Inception service to our client while maintaining the highest level of accuracy and output. The Team Leader's role is broad and covers all areas of legal administration including building and maintaining a productive workflow within tight time schedules, while implementing an atmosphere that fosters personal and professional growth. The Team Leader will be tasked with advancing the level of service provided by the legal admin team team. Leading by example using Williams Lea's DNA and people management tools, the Team Leader is also responsible for the performance management of the team, acting as a team 'coach' and assisting in the development of staff by helping employees look for opportunities to improve their skillset and succeed in their job. The Team Leader role is part chargeable, with the expectation of a 50/50 split between leading a team, and legal administration. Key responsibilities Directly supervise and manage legal administrators, tracking all aspects performance Participate in/manage the legal administrators training and ensure that staff are given the skills needed to successfully carry out their role Carry out staff continuous feedback meetings with direct reports, performance and absence management where required Monitor performance of administrators and provide feedback and advice on any training needs or areas which require improvement Ensure that legal administrators provide excellent customer communication and promote an environment which strives to provide service excellence Ensure new staff are suitably trained and complete the WL induction programmes Organise and run team meetings on a regular basis, prepare agenda, ensure minutes are taken and distributed Communicate management messages accurately and positively in support of the company's values and policies Undertake other duties as assigned by the business Processing new client and matter workflows, following standard operating procedures, including; reviewing KYC/CDD information and supporting documentation, reviewing matter risk assessments, identifying outstanding information and documentation Carrying out file reviews, electronic checks and reviewing reports Raising queries and concerns with designated individuals, as required Recording tasks and other management information, as required Liaising with fee earners, PAs, secretaries and other business support departments as required Contacting customers of client firms to gain personal and/or matter related information Taking an active role in the care of clients and being wholly familiar with all processes Personal attributes Experience of leading a team working under pressure Well presented with good social and interpersonal skills Ability to lead by example and with a strong customer focus Working knowledge of MS Office suite is essential. Knowledge of AML software and legal practice management systems is advantageous.
