The role
Cruise Events Executive
This person is responsible for making sure special charter cruises and themed cruises run smoothly from start to finish.
Think of it as being an Event Manager + Project Manager on a cruise ship.
What's a charter cruise?
A charter cruise is when a company, organisation, travel group, music event, or special-interest group books all or part of a ship.
Examples:
* A jazz music cruise
* A golf-themed cruise
* A corporate incentive trip
* A private group booking an entire ship
This role makes sure everything promised to that client gets delivered.
What would I actually do?
Before the cruise
* Speak with clients
* Plan the event
* Organise schedules
* Coordinate suppliers
* Make sure everyone knows their responsibilities
* Track budgets and costs
Basically: organise everything.
During the cruise
* Travel onboard the ship
* Be the main contact for the client
* Solve problems
* Make sure activities happen as planned
* Work with ship management and hotel teams
Basically: make sure the event doesn't fall apart.
After the cruise
* Gather feedback
* Review what went well and what didn't
* Write reports
* Recommend improvements for future charters
Basically: learn lessons and improve next time.
Who are they looking for?
Someone who:
* Is very organised
* Can manage projects and deadlines
* Is good with customers and stakeholders
* Stays calm under pressure
* Doesn't mind travelling
* Can juggle lots of moving parts at once
Cruise experience helps but isn't required.
What is the company REALLY hiring for?
Someone who can say:
"Tell me what the client wants, give me a budget, and I'll make sure the whole cruise event happens successfully."
One-line summary
You're a project/event manager for special cruise ship events, responsible for planning them, running them, keeping clients happy, and making sure everything promised gets delivered.
This one is less about overall passenger experience and more about managing specific charter and themed cruise projects. It is generally more project-management focused and less operational.
