You will lead on ensuring that AHPs have education, training, and continuing development planned, delivered, and monitored effectively through a robust delivery plan, while providing operational leadership for quality assurance, benchmarking, and standardisation of AHP education across the Trust. Your role will encompass overseeing the provision of AHP education both internally and externally to guarantee a high-quality learning experience for all, supporting the GOSH Learning Academy in establishing multidisciplinary education programmes throughout the Trust, and working collaboratively with departments, directorates, and teams to instigate and evaluate new initiatives that enhance learning in clinical environments and across organisational boundaries.
You will establish and maintain links with educational and other organisations to further develop and sustain staff education and development, including supporting and developing income-generating educational activities, and oversee the provision of pan-Trust education to ensure consistently high-quality education for all.
As a senior leader, you will contribute to the delivery of the ConnectEd strategy, ensuring education initiatives are inclusive, impactful, and strategically aligned, and your leadership will foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement in clinical education and workforce capability.
Main duties of the job
* Undertake the role of Lead Practice Educator: Allied Health Professionals and act as a resource for all staff across the Trust
* Collaborate with Lead Practice Educators in the Learning Academy to ensure joint projects and priorities are aligned and delivered for robust educational output
* Demonstrate strategies that assist in the integration of learning both in practical and educational settings for Allied Health Professionals
* Participate in the operational day-to-day service delivery and commitments of the Learning Academy, specifically within Allied Health Professional education
* · Line management of AHP Practice Educator (b7)
* Implement relevant aspects of the GOSH Learning Academy education strategy
* Advise on regulatory and quality management processes in relation to education and lead/co-ordinate arrangements for inspections and reviews
* Lead on audit and evaluation of education programmes/processes as required by GOSH Learning Academy
* Contribute to research and evaluation projects that advance AHP education and practice
* Maintain and share up-to-date clinical and professional knowledge locally and nationally through effective networking
* Maintain good working relationships with academic partners, professional bodies, and organisations
* Participate in interviews for senior posts throughout the Trust as delegated

Essential criteria
* Be an allied healthcare professional registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
* Be educated within an AHP profession to degree level (or diploma with demonstratable additional equivalent experience)
Desirable criteria
* Be educated to Masters level or be able to demonstrate equivalent training
* Hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Education or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience
* Hold a coaching and/or mentoring qualification
Experience/Knowledge

* Experience of delivering undergraduate education within the healthcare setting
* Experience of implementing, monitoring, and reporting on education programmes
* Track record in ensuring quality in educational programmes, including supporting quality assurance frameworks
* Experience of supporting inclusive education initiatives with measurable impact on learner outcomes
* Evidence of engagement in networks, conferences, or policy development relevant to AHP education
* Understanding of NHS workforce policy and education commissioning
* Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in healthcare education
